Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary offers Scout Programs for both Cub Scouts & Girl Scouts
Scouts will learn about the importance of enrichment for captive wild animals and will perform an age-appropriate service project by helping us create enrichment items for our animals to enjoy!

GIRL SCOUTS PROGRAM (JUNIORS)
Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary offers two programs for Girl Scouts: one for Juniors, and one for Seniors.

Wolf Habitats (Animal Habitats Badge, Grades 4-5)
During the session, Scouts will have an opportunity to learn about:
The wolves and wolfdogs of SFWS and why they could not live in a wild habitat
Gray wolves (Canis lupus) and other wolf species
What habitats are suitable for wolves, focusing on the Yellowstone Wolf Project, the red wolves (Canis rufus) of North Carolina and the Mexican gray wolf reintroduction project
How wolves help balance the ecosystems and habitats where they live, as demonstrated by the reintroduction of wolves to the Greater Yellowstone Area in 1995
GIRL SCOUTS PROGRAM (SENIORS)

A Voice for Wolves (Voices for Animals Badge, Grades 9-10)
During the session, Scouts will have an opportunity to learn about:
The wolves and wolfdogs of SFWS
Gray wolves (Canis lupus) and other wolf species
The myths surrounding wolves which led to their endangerment and their continued vilification by many people around the world
The truth about wolf behavior and the benefits they provide to their environment
The ways in which people in areas with wild wolf populations are learning to coexist with them, and protect both themselves and wolves

Sessions are held on designated Saturdays at the Sanctuary beginning promptly at 11:00am (please arrive by 10:50am) and ending at 12:30pm. The program will be held even in case of inclement weather—we have a covered area within view of the animals.

CUB SCOUTS: $22 per participating scout (which includes an Akela Award patch). The cost for other family members wishing to attend is $12 per adult and $5 per child.
GIRL SCOUTS: $22 per scout, $11 per accompanying family member.

If any minors in your party will not have their parent/guardian present, you MUST bring a Release Form signed by their parent/guardian with you when you arrive. The form can be found here [pdf].
